Credit Suisse’s former Greater China CEO and co-head of Asia Pacific investment banking and capital markets, Mervyn Chow, is joining China-focussed investment firm Hillhouse Capital Group, IFR reported on Tuesday.

Reuters reports that Chow will join Hillhouse, an early investor in top Chinese technology firms including Tencent, Baidu and JD.com, in a senior role in Hong Kong, IFR, a Thomson Reuters publication, reported, citing unnamed sources.

In the meantime, the news agency also reports that HSBC Private Bank on Monday named Adam Gross as head of investment counsellor and product specialist units in the Americas, effective immediately.

Gross most recently served as managing director for Americas at Citigroup’s private banking unit.

Finally, Reuters reports Christine Novakovic has been named head of UBS wealth management in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the bank said, replacing Paul Raphael, who was in charge of Europe and emerging markets.

A spokeswoman confirmed a report by finews that Raphael was leaving his job at UBS, which on Monday announced it was merging its global and Americas wealth management businesses.
