Leeds United loanee made his bow for Cultural Leonesa.
Leeds United loanee Yosuke Ideguchi made his debut for Cultural Leonesa on Sunday evening.
The Japan international midfielder signed for Leeds earlier this month from Gamba Osaka and has been loaned out to the Spanish second division side.
This was a controversial decision among Leeds fans after he qualified for a work permit, which the club was not initially expecting.
Last night he made his debut as a late substitute as Cultural Leonesa lost 2-1 to Osasuna.
Midfielder Fran Merida, linked with Leeds by The Mail in September, scored one of Osasuna's goals.
Ideguchi came on for the final nine minutes with the score at 2-1 but could not rescue a point for his side, who are 18th of 22 teams in the Segunda Liga.
The most notable contribution made by Ideguchi was when he picked up a yellow card.
There was not much time for him to impress but it was important he is getting onto the pitch so early on. Next step will be to impress in training and earn a starting spot.
Here is a look at the reaction to his short debut...
Ideguchi was an 80th minute sub for Leonesa today. Looked ok, took up some good positions, seemed comfortable in possession, couple of decent passes. Booked in the 89th min. Overall seems a decent player hopefully he gets a bit more time on the pitch in the coming weeks #lufc pic.twitter.com/JyBbcR2xxZ— gordy (@gordyyyy) January 21, 2018
Ideguchi 11 mins in Europe and gets a yellow, he will fit right in at Leeds #lufc— Danny Mounts (@Danny_mountain_) January 21, 2018
For those asking Ideguchi did quite well. He only had 15 minutes but he started to show great vision and passing playing in the midfield. Defending he showed intensity, maybe too much and that's why he got booked.— CyD Leonesa English (@CyDLeonesa_en) January 21, 2018
Ideguchi booked after 9 minutes of coming on. He's ready.— Gregg Irwin (@greggleeds) January 21, 2018
Ideguchi is on. Shame it’s in the wrong game, and the wrong country. #lufc— Always Leeds United (@AlwaysLeedsUnit) January 21, 2018
