However, Staveley, who hails from 30 miles north of Leeds, insists she is ‘very much still interested in buying Newcastle United’.

Amanda Staveley could turn to Leeds United after talks to buy Newcastle United ‘came to an end’, according to the Sun’s Neil Ashton [19th January, page 61].
The report claims the next stop on Staveley’s ‘endless flirtation with buying a football club’ is Leeds.
Staveley, however, has told today’s Times she is ‘very much still interested in buying Newcastle’, and that her £250 million offer for the Premier League club remains on the table.

The businesswoman, who hails from Ripon, North Yorkshire – around 30 miles from Leeds, is also said to have failed in an attempt to buy Liverpool.
Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani only seized full control of Leeds United last summer, having acquired an initial 50 per cent stake in January 2017.

And it remains to be seen whether Radrizzani would consider selling up so soon, should an offer arrive, having brought stability to Elland Road after a turbulent three years under Massimo Cellino’s rule.
The Whites are currently outside the Championship play-offs on goal difference only.
Should Leeds United welcome an approach from prospective Newcastle United buyer Amanda Staveley?
