HITC Sport understands Luton, Plymouth and Crewe eye move for former West Brom defender Callam Mendez-Jones.
A host of Football League clubs are tracking Hednesford Town defender Callam Mendez-Jones, HITC Sport understands.
The likes of League One Plymouth Argyle and League Two duo Luton Town and Crewe Alexandra are understood to have expressed an interest in Mendez-Jones as they look to bolster their defensive options during this month's transfer window.
HITC Sport understands Mendez-Jones is signed on non-contract terms for Northern Premier side Hednesford Town, making him available for no fee.
Mendez-Jones joined Hednesford as a free agent after his release from Premier League side West Brom last June having spent ten years at the club.
Mendez-Jones, who has represented England at Under 16,17, and U18 level is an athletic right-back who can also operate as a right sided centre-back as part of a back three.
The 21-year-old has been in fine form since joining Hednesford with side having lost just one game since Mendez-Jones' arrival.
Hednesford are keen to tie Mendez-Jones down to a new contract to prevent him leaving for free, but the player is now weighing up his options.
HITC understands that Luton see Mendez Jones as an ideal replacement for their in-demand right-back James Justin who has been linked with a move higher up the football pyramid.
