Jonas Lossl has been erratic for Huddersfield this season so should they look to try and sign Danny Ward from Liverpool once again?

Huddersfield Town have now not won in the Premier League since December 16, with the 4-1 home defeat to West Ham United at the weekend their fifth successive match without victory.

That result at the John Smith's Stadium against the Hammers particularly highlighted that while goalkeeper Jonas Lossl has shown flashes of brilliance this season, the Mainz loanee is also worryingly error prone.

Yet unfortunately there is no adequate competition for Lossl, with Joel Coleman having been limited to cup action and Rob Green not making a single appearance since his switch from Leeds United.

If the Terriers want to make a serious challenge of avoiding relegation in 2017/18 then they need a 'keeper they can rely on, so is it time to revisit the Danny Ward deal?

Ward was instrumental in Huddersfield's promotion from the Championship via the playoffs last term and manager David Wagner was keen to re-sign the Liverpool stopper on loan again this time around, but admitted in June that an approach for the 23-year-old had been knocked back by his friend Jurgen Klopp.

"I've spoken with Jurgen and unfortunately he's made the decision that Danny Ward has to go back to Liverpool. This is a player we will not be able to bring to our club," Wagner was quoted by the Daily Mail.

Yet since then Ward has been limited to just one first team game in the Carabao Cup with Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet once again being rotated by Klopp and with the Liverpool Echo reporting the German plans to continue that for the rest of the campaign, there is a chance the Wales international could leave Anfield.

While Sunderland have already failed in their bid to sign the Welshman, as reported by the Express, can Wagner use his links with the Reds to see him seal the deal?
