Newcastle's Henri Saivet is reportedly set to join Montpellier.
The Magpies swooped to sign midfielder Saivet from Bordeaux back in January 2016, and he was seen as a smart signing having impressed in French football.
However, the Senegal international played just four times after his arrival, and was sent back to France with Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2016, joining the Ligue 1 side on a season-long loan deal.
Saivet returned to St. James' Park this season despite suggestions of a summer exit, and once again assumed a bit-part role under Rafael Benitez before a shock start – and goal – against West Ham United last month.
The midfielder hasn't played in the Premier League since then though, and with just 10 minutes of FA Cup action since that West Ham game, Saivet looks to be leaving Tyneside.
French newspaper L'Equipe report that Montpellier are in advanced talks to land Saivet on loan for the rest of the season, with an option to buy him for €5million (£4.4million) in the summer transfer window.
It's claimed that a decision is expected in the coming hours, meaning Saivet could be set for another return to France in the very near future.
