Queens Park Rangers have handed prolific Hendon striker Niko Muir a trial at Loftus Road, HITC Sport understands.

A host of Football League clubs have been tracking Muir as a result of his goal-scoring exploits for Hendon so far this season.

The 24-year-old, who joined Hendon last summer, has scored 30 goals already this season and his performances have brought him to the attention of clubs higher up the football pyramid.

Scouts from several Football League sides have been making trips to Silver Jubilee Park to cast an eye over the player this season, but QPR are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by inviting him to train with the Championship club.

QPR see Muir as a potential star in the making and someone who can easily make the step up from non-league into the professional ranks.

Muir will spend the week training with QPR so that R's boss Ian Holloway can have a look at him at close quarters.

If Muir impresses during his training stint at QPR he could be offered a move to Loftus Road before the close of this month's transfer window, with Holloway keen to add to his squad.
