Could Vidal be bound for Liverpool, Everton, Manchester United or Manchester City?

The agent of Barcelona’s Aleix Vidal is holding talks with clubs in Liverpool and Manchester over a move for his client, according to Estadio Deportivo. However, the report fails to specify with which of the cities’ four prominent clubs, Liverpool, Everton, Manchester United and Manchester City, there has been contact so far.

It is claimed that Vidal intends to leave Barca in January, having made only seven starts this season across all competitions.

But the 28-year-old is said to be growing restless at a lack of progress being made over a domestic move, which explains why his representatives would be looking further afield.

Neither of Liverpool, Everton, Manchester United and Manchester City are in obvious need of a new right wing-back, although Vidal’s ability to play in a variety of defensive and attacking roles could make him an appealing target for any of the above.

Theo Walcott of Arsenal during the Carabao Cup fourth round match between Arsenal and Norwich City at Emirates Stadium on October 24, 2017 in London, England.

Vidal’s pace and creativity in the final third could be of use to Everton in particular. However, with Theo Walcott expected to arrive from Arsenal in the coming days and Seamus Coleman back in full training, the Toffees’ need is somewhat reduced.

Liverpool, who should have Nathaniel Clyne back next month, have been linked with a move for Vidal, for whom Barca paid Sevilla around £15 million in 2015, on several occasions previously.
