Swansea City have been joined by fellow Premier League survival hopefuls Southampton and Crystal Palace in the chase for the Atletico Madrid striker.

Hold your hats everyone; Kevin Gameiro does not want to swap Atletico Madrid for the side stuck to the bottom of the Premier League table.
But the paper reports that Swansea are not the only club making an ambitious approach for Gameiro this month.

Crystal Palace and Southampton are also in need of a striker capable of firing them to safety and have both enquired about Gameiro’s availability.
The former PSG star may not have set the world alight since joining Atletico from Sevilla for around £30 million in the summer of 2016 but his rapid pace and clinical one-on-one finishing means he could take on talismanic status at either Palace or Southampton.

Roy Hodgson’s Eagles are desperately in need of an alternative to Christian Benteke, who has only netted once all season.
Southampton, meanwhile, are crying out for a speedy and effective centre-forward with the struggles of Shane Long and Manolo Gabbiadini well documented.
The Mail, however, rather crucially adds that Gameiro would only consider signing for a club in the top six. And with Swansea, Southampton and Palace all in the bottom half, don’t expect Gameiro to be packing his bags so soon.
