Spurs ace Christian Eriksen spoke exclusively to the club's official website after his side's superb 4-0 win over Everton on Saturday, and shared what Dele Alli told him after the 20-year-old set up his goal against the Toffees.

Tottenham have been in superb form recently, and currently sit in fifth position in the Premier League table, although they still sit a distant 18 points adrift of league leaders Manchester City.

Eriksen himself has enjoyed an impressive campaign thus far, notching up six goals and six assists in 23 Premier League appearances.

He delivered for his club once again against Everton, proving to be an influential figure throughout the 90 minutes.

The 25-year-old spoke to reporters in the aftermath of the game, and shared what Dele told him after he scored his side's fourth and final goal against Sam Allardyce's side, as quoted by TottenhamHotspur.com:

“Yes, I was expecting it. I thought at first it was for Sonny but he told me after that it wasn’t for Sonny so it was good that Dele saw me. He has good awareness so it was a very good ball. He said afterwards he was a little bit scared of how long the ball would travel but I was on it quickly so it was a good one.”

Next up for Tottenham is a trip to St Mary's to take on Southampton on Sunday, and Eriksen and co will have to be at their very best if they are to keep the pressure up on those above them in the table.
