According to a report from The Sun, Crystal Palace have looked to address their problems in front of goal by making an enquiry for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.

Roy Hodgson's men have pulled off a miraculous turnaround after looking doomed for the drop when the former England boss arrived at Selhurst Park earlier in the season.

Their win over high-flying Burnley at the weekend has left the Eagles 12th in the table, five points clear of the bottom three. Nevertheless, scoring goals has been an issue for the club with 21 strikes coming in 23 Premier League games so far.

The Sun reports that that has prompted Palace to make an enquiry for Dembele, whose stock has risen significantly during his time in the Scottish Premiership with the Hoops.

The youngster has scored 40 goals in all competitions, including strikes in the Champions League during his time at Parkhead, and the Bhoys are desperate to keep hold of the Frenchman beyond this window, according to The Sun.

Moussa Dembele celebrates his 2nd goal (Celtic's 4th) during the Betfred Cup Semi-Final at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

However, The Sun adds that Palace making a big-money bid may tempt Celtic into considering selling one of their key players this month, so perhaps Hodgson will be urging the board to test the Hoops' resolve to keep the former Fulham starlet.

Dembele has not quite hit the same heights that he seemed to scale during his first year in Scotland - scoring eight times in 21 appearances in all competitions - but clearly boasts a huge amount of potential, so perhaps Palace may feel that now is the perfect time to strike as some of their top flight rivals may need to see the forward rediscover his best form before they make their own move.
