The Tottenham Hotspur forward has been on an excellent run of form recently.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side's superb 4-0 win over Everton at Wembley yesterday, and offered high words of praise for Heung-min Son, labelling his recent displays as 'fantastic', as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.
The South Korean really has risen to prominence this season, scoring 11 goals and chipping in with four assists in 30 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham.
His fine form has played a major role in Spurs' impressive recent run, and Pochettino's men now sit level on points with fourth placed Liverpool, although they have played a game more than the Reds.
Things haven't always been quite so plain sailing for Son, however. He struggled to establish himself when he made his £18 million switch from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015.
His hard work has paid off though, and Pochettino told reporters how much of an influence the 25-year-old has on the Spurs team now, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London:
"It was a great performance, but it's not only today. It's three months we've been talking about Sonny's performance. He's showing he's more mature than last season and his performances are helping the team a lot. He, today, everyone can see that he's on more of a level, the belief and confidence that show in every game is fantastic. He's been doing so well this season of course."
Next up for Son and co is a trip to Southampton on Sunday, and nothing less than a win will do, as they look to keep the pressure up on those above them in the table.
