Do Leeds United need to sign a striker in the January transfer window?
Christiansen told Leeds Live when asked about signing a new striker: “That could be a possibility. As I said, the market is very difficult right now. But if it helps the team, of course.”
Leeds signed as many two strikers in the summer transfer window - Pierre-Michel Lasogga on loan from Hamburg and Jay-Roy Grot from NEC.
While Grot has failed to make any impact whatsoever at Elland Road, Lasogga has been inconsistent and has not always been on his game this season.
Kemar Roofe has been played as a striker from time to time, and although the former Oxford United star has done quite well, Leeds cannot rely on him to continue to score goals regularly for the rest of the season.
It is clear that Leeds could do with a new striker in the January transfer window, and the club’s fans must be pleased that Christiansen is open to adding to that department.
The West Yorkshire outfit are unlikely to finish in the top two of the Championship this season, but if they sign a proven goalscorer, then they should end up in the playoffs.
