Borthwick-Jackson joined Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United in the summer of 2017.
Much was expected of the 20-year-old defender when he arrived at Elland Road, but the left-back has struggled to make an impact at the West Yorkshire outfit.
The youngster has been able to play just once in the Championship so far this season.
According to The Daily Mail, United are set to recall Borthwick-Jackson from his loan spell at Championship club Leeds.
Leeds’s Championship rivals, Reading and Fulham, are reportedly interested in signing Borthwick-Jackson and have claimed to have already made enquiries to sign him for the rest of the season on loan.
Head coach Christiansen has suggested that Borthwick-Jackson’s future is up in the air, admitting that he does not know if he will remain at Elland Road for the rest of the season.
Christiansen told Leeds Live when asked if Borthwick-Jackson has a future at Leeds: “I don't know right now. He is not in the list because two days ago he got a kick and twisted his ankle and will be out.”
