Could the Everton winger leave for Newcastle United or Burnley this month?

Newcastle United have been made 5/1 favourites, alongside Burnley, to sign Everton’s Aaron Lennon in January – as of Friday afternoon.
Bookmakers Sky Bet opened a market on the Everton winger’s future earlier in the day, shortly after Sam Allardyce admitted the Toffees are in talks to sign Arsenal’s Theo Walcott, who can also play in Lennon’s position, amid reports of a £20 million bid being prepared [the Telegraph].

And it is Newcastle and Burnley who lead the betting at 5/1, ahead of Leeds United (14/1) and Watford (16/1), to land the 30-year-old.
Unlike Newcastle, Burnley have been linked with a move for Lennon [the Sun], although the Clarets have since signed winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, which could open the door for others to pounce.

The Yorkshire man, who has been in and out of Everton’s starting eleven this season, is out of contract in six months’ time.
Newcastle’s January business will likely depend on the outcome of Amanda Staveley’s proposed takeover at St James’ Park, with Rafa Benitez admitting on Friday he is still unclear about his transfer budget.
