West Ham have reportedly been offered the chance to sign a Newcastle United defender.
There could be plenty of interesting deals finalised before the transfer window closes and it appears that West Ham United will be heavily involved in proceedings.
West Ham striker Diafra Sakho has been linked with a move away from the club and is the subject of interest from Newcastle United.
The report indicates that Sakho's proposed move to Crystal Palace is now in doubt, which could increase the possibility of him joining Newcastle and Mbemba signing for West Ham.
If the part-exchange deal did go ahead then it would be excellent business for West Ham as not only would they free themselves of an underperforming striker (Sakho has only scored four goals in 17 appearances across all competitions this season) but they would be signing a dependable defender who could help them greatly in their quest to avoid relegation.
Mbemba has, rather surprisingly, been used sparingly by Newcastle this season but the 23-year-old is an impressive defender and would help to make West Ham more resilient at the back, indicating that this would be an excellent deal for David Moyes' side.
