Leonardo Ulloa could finally leave Leicester City this month with a move to La Liga, or the Championship via Aston Villa, a possibility.
Aston Villa are not the only club keen to bring an end to Leonardo Ulloa’s Leicester City nightmare this month.
The Birmingham Mail stated on Tuesday that Aston Villa have made an enquiry about the prospect of signing the striker on loan from the Foxes. It is understood that Ulloa is open to the idea of leaving the King Power Stadium after making just four substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.
But the 31-year-old could also be in line for a return to Spain five years after he left Almeria to join Brighton and Hove Albion.
Marca state that three top flight clubs, Leganes, Celta Vigo and Real Betis, have already expressed an interest in signing the powerful front man, while a number of other La Liga clubs are also monitoring his situation.
Ulloa had an impressive record in Spain, netting seven La Liga goals for Almeria back in 2010/11 before plundering 28 in the second tier a year later, winning the competitions’ ‘Pichichi’ award as a result.
So Villa could have a fight on their hands if they want to lure Ulloa to the Midlands.
He netted a goal almost every other game during his spell at Brighton, suggesting that he could be the missing piece for Steve Bruce’s side as they aim to claw their way back into the Premier League.
