Rangers' chances of bringing winger Jordan Jones to Ibrox may just have been given a boost from an unlikely source.
Tottenham Hotspur have decided to loan winger Georges-Kevin N'Koudou to the Clarets, effectively ruling Burnley out of the race for Jones.
The Mail reported recently that Burnley had been monitoring Jones' situation - prior to N'Koudou's surprise switch.
Rangers now have a better chance of landing Jordan Jones now with Burnley's need for a winger satiated.
They are not alone in the race, with The Mail's report also citing interest from Championship sides Norwich City and Hull City, but Premier League high flyers Burnley were by far the most dangerous competition.
Rangers signed Jamie Murphy from Brighton earlier this week, but they appear keen to still add Jones.
The Mirror reported this week that Rangers have had a £500,000 bid turned down, with Kilmarnock holding out for £1 million.
Tottenham's decision to loan N'Koudou to Burnley appears to have aided the Scottish giants' pursuit of the former Middlesbrough trainee.
