Newcastle United have been considering making a move for West Ham United forward Diafra Sakho.

According to a report in the Chronicle, West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho is a player who has been discussed by Rafael Benitez, but the Newcastle United boss now feels that any deal is unlikely.

Newcastle are on the hunt for a new striker, and Sakho is a name who has been touted as a potential signing.

However, even though Benitez would like Sakho at St. James’ Park, the Spanish now feels a deal is unlikely.

West Ham and Newcastle are both battling against the drop, and Benitez does not expect any favours from David Moyes.

Newcastle may not be able to finance a permanent deal for Sakho, but would be keen to take him on loan.
