According to The Mirror, West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Pardew is interested in reuniting with Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies moved to appoint Pardew as their new boss in November, and he has won just one of his nine games in charge – Saturday's FA Cup win over Exeter City.

Pardew will be looking for January reinforcements to boost his squad, and it seems that he is actually lining up a raid on one of his former clubs this month.

The Mirror report that Pardew is interested in signing Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur, and could look to reunite with him in this transfer window.

McArthur, 30, joined Palace from Wigan Athletic back in 2014, and has been a mainstay of the Eagles' midfield under a whole host of managers.

The Scottish international has racked up 113 games for Palace, scoring 14 goals in the process having emerged as an important box-to-box midfielder.

This term, McArthur has three goals in 17 Premier League outings, and Pardew may now swoop to reunite with the midfielder at West Brom if he gets his way.

Palace may not be too keen on selling him to a rival in the relegation battle though, and Pardew may have to hope that he can secure a deal given that McArthur's contract at Selhurst Park expires in the summer.
