Manchester United have identified Celtic defender Kieran Tierney as alternative option to Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose.

The 27-year-old Tottenham left-back has been struggling with injuries this season at Spurs, but United boss Jose Mourinho still wants him in January.

The Red Devils are reportedly weighing up a January move for the England international, but the club are hesitant of meeting Tottenham’s £50m ask for the player.
In case United fail to land Rose, they will opt for Celtic’s Tierney, who has been tracked by United for the last two seasons.

Celtic will demand a good price for their priced asset though, but he would still represent a cheaper alternative to Rose.
The 20-year-old is arguably one of the best left-backs in Scotland, and he is a key player for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
He signed a six-year contract with Celtic in October, and would cost around £25 million. Tierney is a natural attacking left-back, but he has played at right back for Scotland.
