Would Fleetwood Town striker be a good signing for Leeds United in the January transfer window?
According to The Sun, the Ibrox club are interested in signing Cole and want to agree a pre-contract with the 22-year-old striker.
The striker’s contract at Cod Army runs out at the end of the season, and the Gers want to win the race to his signature ahead of Sheffield United and Millwall in the Championship in England.
Cole is the son of Manchester United legend Andy Cole, who won the Premier League title five times and the Champions League once with the Red Devils.
Leeds fans have been discussing the prospect of signing Cole from Fleetwood following the League One club’s Chief Executive Steve Curwood’s recent comments about the youngster.
Speaking on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Saturday morning (broadcast from 7am, January 6, 2018), Curwood said: “Devante Cole, son of Andy Cole, and Amari'i Bell, both of them have attracted significant level of interest from leagues above us.”

Devante cole bid from a promotion chasing championship team. Let's see what he's like then. Never know might be us #lufc— mathew hibbert (@matteohib94) January 6, 2018
I think #LUFC should take a chance on Devante Cole & Amari’i Bell.— Adam Ross (@rossi_on) January 6, 2018
This had better be a joke— Lee Aldridge (@leeLUFCaldridge) January 6, 2018
Think his attitude has improved. Personally I'd rather we bought a better proven player or if recruiting from lower leagues. Hirst— Ed LUFC (@edthomas1975) January 6, 2018
He's absolutely shocking I'd actually prefer us to get Brian Deane out of retirement than sign him— Chris Vollentine (@volluk) January 6, 2018
Please no!— Aaron Taylor (@AzzaLufc) January 6, 2018
Clearly playing in L1 for a reason— Danieljamesrose (@danieljamesros2) January 6, 2018
Mates a Bradford fan, and he hated him, the main issues he's had a most previous clubs are attitude and work rate, shows glimpses of talent, yet to show consistency though. Risky signature in my honest opinion.— NeilGakhal (@NeilGakhal) January 7, 2018
Wouldn’t improve the quality of our striking options.— Lee Jeffreys (@jeffreysls) January 6, 2018
Big enough and strong enough to play as a lone striker, would be pretty happy if we signed him, think sheff utd almost got him in Summer.— Joe (@JoeJames1996) January 6, 2018
Would have him needs a bit of work but definitely take a chance on him— Adam Ross (@rossi_on) January 6, 2018
Good striker tbh— Luca (@lufc_news7) January 6, 2018
Really don’t want him tbh, seems like he’s doing probably the same as what Grot would be doing if he was at league 1— Kian (@VieiraMadness) January 6, 2018
Roofe has 7 goals in the championship, Cole has 10 in league one and he's played 5 more games. Don't understand why we're going for him tbh— Jake (@JakeLUFC_) January 6, 2018
Ekuban has looked very good. But league one is better than Albania and Cole has more experience— @ (@deancore) January 6, 2018
Devante Cole no thanks, Marriott & Maddison yes please #lufc— Andrew Harvey (@AndrewHarvey_) January 6, 2018
#lufc Devante Cole yes please scoring goals in a midtable team big strong and pacey striker that Whelan was talking about and would be cheap only 6 months left on the contract— Briany #MOT (@brianyoneill) January 6, 2018
Hmmm.. not sure on Devante. Clayton, De Bock and Grabban would be excellent and realistic. Marriott would cost £5m+ and us unproven at this level.— Bruce The Bad Cat (@BruceTheBadCat) January 6, 2018
