Tottenham Hotspur fans believe that Mauricio Pochettino will be fuming at seemingly missing out in the race for Ross Barkley to Chelsea.
Tottenham have had their eyes on Barkley for some time, but it seems that the Everton man will be heading to Stamford Bridge.
And Spurs fans fear that Pochettino will be fuming with Daniel Levy, over his failure to secure Barkley’s signature.
And if Barkley completes his move to Chelsea today then Levy has one again failed Pochettino. Clear since the summer Poch really wanted him. Eriksen needs comptition badly. Awful again yesterday #THFC— Trevor Lloyd (@Trevorlloyd92) January 5, 2018
Not sure what I make of Barkley to Chelsea - clear that Poch/#THFC wanted him in the summer but the injury put an end to that - would be surprised if Pochettino said he didn’t want him in this window - reported fee of £15m hardly extortionate either. A strange situation. #COYS— Jordan Pomeroy (@EastTerrace00) January 5, 2018
Completely flabbergasted that Spurs are seemingly allowing Ross Barkley to join Chelsea.— Marc Benamram (@MarcBenamram) January 4, 2018
Club have wanted the player since the spring and unless Poch has had a recent change of heart, the failure to sign the midfielder will anger him massively.#THFC #COYS
We surely HAVE to match the bid for Barkley. Levy is a cheap son of a bitch but he isn’t COMPLETELY clueless I pray. He knows Poch wants him, and £15m is a bargain. If we lose him, I’ll be livid.— Zach (@TheTHFC) January 5, 2018
Levy wouldn't pay 15m for Barkley and people think he's going to make marquee signing to open the new stadium #thfc— Adhithya (@adhithya35) January 5, 2018
Levy needs to leave, how he messed up the signing of barkley is shocking. We need a big signing if we want to give juventus some real competition in the CL...— Alan (@AlanTHFC) January 5, 2018
Barkley going to Chelsea. This football club never ceases to amaze me. Europa league at the new stadium it is then.— BleedSpurs (@BleedSpurs) January 5, 2018
Chelsea about to sign Barkley, Poch is going to go crazy if we don't do something— c hutch (@CmH_26) January 4, 2018
If the Barkley news is true then I don’t see Poch staying beyond this season. If Levy won’t back him in the transfer market he won’t stay he can do far better than us. Even if he does makes subs far too late.— Andy Perry (@andyperry79) January 5, 2018
Tottenham had been hoping to secure Barkley on a free transfer at the end of the season, once his contract at Everton expires, but Chelsea are set to pay £15 million to force through a deal.
Tottenham could have been aided by Barkley’s arrival, as he would have bolstered their midfield options and provided more competition for Dele Alli.
Spurs will now have to look elsewhere, as Pochettino looks to add to his options.
Tottenham are thought to have money to spend in the January transfer window, but they are yet to complete a signing.
