Tottenham Hotspur are set to take on AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Marcus Edwards has been omitted from Tottenham Hotspur’s under-23 squad which faced Leicester City yesterday, which suggests that the striker could finally get his first team chance at the weekend.
Spurs are due to face AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup on Sunday, which will be their third game in five days.
Tottenham’s demanding schedule means that Mauricio Pochettino is likely to make changes to his line-up.
And Edwards could now be in his thinking, as he was left out of the development squad’s match yesterday.
Edwards may feel fortunate that he did miss playing against Leicester, as Spurs fell to a heavy 6-1 defeat.
Edwards is considered one of Tottenham’s best prospects, and there has been calls for him to start from supporters for some time.
However, the 19-year-old has not been used in the first-team at all this season, with Mauricio Pochettino seemingly questioning his attitude.
Edwards’ only other senior Tottenham appearance came against Gillingham in the EFL Cup last term.
