Glasgow Rangers end the year on a high as the Ibrox side drew 0-0 with the Scottish Premiership leaders.
Former Glasgow Rangers player Alex Rae has taken to social networking site Twitter to react to the Old Firm stalemate on Saturday, and suggested that the Gers should have won the match against Celtic at Parkhead.
The Ibrox club had lost six of their last seven meetings against their arch-rivals since the start of last season. On this occasion, they did put up a strong performance in the Scottish Premiership, and the players deserve praise for that effort.
Graeme Murty's men created some very good chances, while Alfredo Morelos (he did put in a good effort overall) will not reflect on his performance too fondly as he wasted some very good chances during the game.
Rae suggested that prior to the game he would have settled for a draw, but he is left disappointed after such a solid performance from the Gers. He has praised the team’s fighting spirit, saying Rangers showed “plenty desire”.
Would have settled for a draw before the old firm game but came away from the ground disappointed not to have taken 3 points well done @RangersFC showed plenty desire,— Alex Rae (@alexrae1969) December 30, 2017
Rangers find themselves third in the Scottish Premier League table with 40 points, three behind Aberdeen, but the result with give them plenty of confidence going into the winter break.
