Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton is preparing another raid on former club Rangers as he targets Wes Foderingham, according to the Scottish Sun.

After being appointed Reds boss on March 14, Warburton wasted no time in looking to Gers - whom he was in charge of for 18 months - for new players.

In the end Barrie McKay joined the 55-year-old at the City Ground and now Foderingham ranks highly on his list of targets for the January transfer window.

Warburton wants competition for current Forest number one Jordan Smith as he looks to improve his squad as pressure increases following a string of poor results.

It is thought that Foderingham, who is under contract at Ibrox until 2020, would be tempted by a reunion with his former chief and the chance to play in the Championship.

This would come as a blow to Warburton's counterpart at Glasgow outfit, Graeme Murty, who would almost certainly have to then sign an experienced goalkeeper to replace him.
