Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in signing the Lyon attacker in January.
Tottenham Hotspur fans are far from impressed by the rumours that they want to sign Maxwel Cornet from Lyon in the January transfer window.
However, Tottenham fans are fearful of buying prospects from France, after the struggles of Clinton NJie and Georges Kevin N’Koudou recently.
Njie was sold by Spurs after just one year at the club, while N’Koudou has never threatened to break into Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up.
Tottenham fans are now worried that another unproven player could be brought to North London, with most suggesting that Cornet would not be a good buy.
N'Jie, GKN and now this guy? We don't learn do we.— Stuart Peel (@JedLomax) December 21, 2017
It's becoming a joke. We need Barkley who's available and premier league ready. This is what the likes of Rose are pissed off about— Bek Stefario (@SimplyStefario) December 21, 2017
got loads of youngsters who never ever get a game! World cup winner Onomah was farmed out on loan even. So, for goodness sake, what's the point? Seems only at Man City do youngster get a fair crack— sabina nardell (@lillun6) December 21, 2017
Yeah another French prodigy they work out well don’t they— dale glazier (@DaleGlazier) December 21, 2017
I've seen this guy play. Looks good in League 1. Physical player that could suit the prem better than other purchases we have made. Not the worst option, especially at 7 mil. Could be a player we build and sell for more— Andrew Faulkner (@faulkas) December 21, 2017
Is he a tricky winger? Smacks of “if at first you don’t succeed......”— Steve Worrell (@steve_worrell) December 21, 2017
Sounds about right another cheap option back poch in the TW or no chance of CL going into new stadium— Billy Cairns (@Billytheyid70) December 21, 2017
I can guarantee you he has more to his game then njie and nkoudou and will become a good player but he lacks end product would much rather Malcom or Boufal— Calvin Ajayi (@CalvinAjayi) December 21, 2017
Cornet has scored two goals and created three assists in 15 appearances for Lyon this term.
The attacker can play as a winger or a striker, and would bolster Pochettino’s attacking options if he was to move to Tottenham in January.
