Tottenham Hotspur scout Chris Powell has told the Totally Football Show Podcast, that he could see Wilfried Zaha representing Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but a transfer next month could problematic.

Crystal Palace winger Zaha has been said to be on Spurs’ radar by the Daily Mail, ahead of the January transfer window.

And Powell believes that Spurs could face a fight with Arsenal to sign the talented wide-man, although he fears Pochettino’s side won’t be able to afford the Ivory Coast international.

“I can’t see him at the two Manchester City, I can’t see him at a Chelsea, I can’t see him at Liverpool. So it has to be Arsenal or Spurs,” Powell said.

“But I can’t see them paying £50m, £60m - so I can only see him staying [in January].”

Powell has been working as a scout for Spurs since November, so his comments suggesting that the Lilywhites could move for the Palace man are interesting.

Zaha has helped the Eagles move away from the drop zone, with his skill and power raising eyebrows.

At the moment Zaha’s value seems to be rising by the game, with the winger going from strength to strength.

A report in the Daily Mirror this morning suggested that Manchester City have now joined the race with Spurs to sign the trickster, who is valued at £40 million.
