The January transfer window is now open and West Ham United will be looking to strengthen their squad as they seek to ensure that they can stay in the Premier League.

In his first transfer window as manager, it will be interesting to see what acquisitions Moyes makes as he seeks to put his own stamp on the squad.

Central midfield, therefore, is a position in which West Ham could well look to strengthen this month, with Harry Arter of Bournemouth having been linked with a switch to London Stadium, as reported by The Sun.

Given that he is capable of retaining possession effectively and proven that he can perform in the Premier League, Arter would certainly be a worthwhile acquisition for West Ham.
