Newcastle United are ahead of Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Everton on the list of contenders to sign the midfielder.

Newcastle United are the new favourites to sign Jack Wilshere, ahead of clubs including Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Everton.
That’s according to bookmakers Ladbrokes, with whom Newcastle are 7/4 to win the Arsenal midfielder’s signature before the end of January.
However, Crystal Palace [3/1], West Ham [10/3], Everton – whose odds have shortened from 4/1 to 7/2 since the middle of last week – and AC Milan [5/1] make up a tight chasing pack.
Wilshere is out of contract at Arsenal next summer and may seek a move elsewhere this winter, having only made eight starts for the Gunners this season.
Newcastle, meanwhile, could have fresh funds to spend, with Mike Ashley in talks to sell the Magpies to a consortium fronted by businesswoman Amanda Staveley.

However, whether or not or either they Everton can lure Wilshere away from London – where Palace and West Ham also play their home games – will remain to be seen.
Newcastle travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Wilshere’s side on Saturday.
