West Ham United manager David Moyes suggests that he will sign a midfielder in the January transfer window.

Fernandes has an ankle injury, and West Ham manager Moyes has suggested that the 21-year-old midfielder could need surgery.
The Switzerland international midfielder has been on the books of the Hammers since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Sion for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £5.5 million.

Moyes wrote in The London Evening Standard: “I think I will be using the full squad in the next couple of weeks.
“We’re okay with forward players but, against Arsenal, we had no midfielders on the bench and Edimilson Fernandes may need surgery on an ankle problem. Cover may be a priority in January.
“We’re always assessing this squad but as I’ve only been here a month I’m looking for input from the club, as to who they’ve been looking at with the transfer window in mind.”

West Ham’s results and performances have improved in recent weeks, but the London club are very much in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Although the Hammers have a good squad and some wonderful players, there is always room for improvement.
It would make sense for the Premier League club to sign one or two quality players in the January transfer window in order to enhance their chances of retain their top-flight status for the 2018-19 campaign
