The left-back profited from an injury to Stephen Ward to play the final 49 minutes of Burnley's 1-0 home win against Stoke City.
It's been a slow start to Taylor's Turf Moor career, with his only two appearances to date coming against Blackburn Rovers and, ironically, Leeds, in the EFL Cup.
Leeds fans have given Taylor a fair amount of stick as a result - he did, after all refuse to pull out of their final game of last season as his contract reached expiry - but did he prove wrong his doubters on Tuesday?
Here's what Burnley fans are saying about the 24-year-old's display:
And had a good game too.— mick freeman (@mfreeman00) 12 December 2017
I think @charlietaylor09 silenced all the @LUFC critics last night showing he was more than ready to step straight in and he proved him self #selbyclarets #twitterclarets @THEBobLordVoice @ldnlongside @NoNayNever @PhilBirdBFC @utcdotcom @BXSport— Jack Bennett (@JakBen8) 13 December 2017
Mee is injured and didn’t play and Ward limped off. Worth replacing Ward with Charlie Taylor. Looks impressive— Simon Chamberlain (@Foshiznik) 12 December 2017
Still buzzing from last night's result. Taylor looked the part when he came on - can deliver some decent crosses from the left. Long and Bardsley have also not put a foot wrong since getting into the team. See you all at the airport! #twitterclarets #europeantour— AJC (@Gingerclaret) 13 December 2017
Yeah he did tbf. Looked a tad nervous but that’s to be expected given that he’s not played. I really like the lad.— Natalie Bromley (@Natalie_Bromley) 12 December 2017
Against many people's expectations, Burnley's win saw them climb to fourth in the Premier League - above Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, who could all leapfrog the Clarets with victories on Wednesday evening.
How did the former Leeds man do on his Premier League debut?
