Whilst Newcastle United’s struggles in the Premier League continue, one of their former players continues to impress elsewhere.
The Magpies lost 3-2 at home to Leicester City on Saturday evening, meaning they have now lost six of their last seven games, and are sliding concerningly close to the relegation zone.
Elsewhere though, one former Newcastle player enjoyed a superb weekend as defender Kevin Mbabu scored a wondergoal for Young Boys in his native Switzerland.

Mbabu picked up the ball on the right and drove forward before unleashing an unstoppable drive into the net, rescuing a point for Young Boys against Grasshopper.
The 22-year-old posted a video of the goal on Twitter on Monday, and received a number of responses from Newcastle fans – most of them disgruntled.
Mbabu joined the Magpies from Servette back in 2013, but made just five first-team appearances before being sent on loan to Young Boys last season, eventually penning a permanent deal over the summer.

Newcastle fans suggested that the Magpies should never have sold Mbabu, claiming that he showed real potential in his limited playing time in the Premier League.
Some even believe that Mbabu is better than DeAndre Yedlin and Javier Manquillo, two full backs brought in by Rafael Benitez, with one fan adding that seeing Mbabu play so well in Switzerland is sickening, given that Newcastle let him go so easily.
