Foyth was making his Champions League debut for Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur's early progression to the Champions League's last-16 allowed head coach Mauricio Pochettino to try out a number of fringe players in Wednesday's final group game against APOEL Nicosia.
Michel Vorm, Juan Foyth, Georges-Kevin N'Koudou and Fernando Llorente were brought from the cold as Tottenham eased to a 3-0 win, courtesy of goals from two of those players - Llorente and N'Koudou - and another from Heung-min Son.
The chances of Llorente and N'Koudou starting Saturday's game against Stoke, however, are probably slim.
But with Toby Alderweireld sidelined and Davinson Sanchez suspended, some Spurs fans believe Foyth could be in with a shout after his APOEL display.
Here's what they're saying about the Argentine...
Jesus Juan Foyth looks good— L Warner (@LVWarn) 6 December 2017
Liking Foyth, appreciate he’s had very limited action against lesser sides but shows an air of authority and calmness about him— JP (@Namasqui) 6 December 2017
Foyth defo looks ready to start if needed— SHARKY (@Belgian_Hotspur) 6 December 2017
Also Foyth isn’t ready. He’d get exposed in the PL and then the same ones calling for him to start would call him shit.— Jon. (@jonhotspur88) 6 December 2017
I am a very big fan of Foyth. Lay off the kid. He is so confident on the ball for his age we did well to get him.— Harps (@Harps1981) 6 December 2017
Not hard to see why all the top clubs wanted Foyth.— Hamid (@HamidTHFC) 6 December 2017
Flawless performance from Foyth tonight. Bearing in mind he is only 19, the composure he has when he's on the ball is unreal. I reckon he is ready for the Premier League and could be used in a back three.— . (@TheKaneEra) 6 December 2017
Impressed with Foyth, looks quality imo— Pivotal Hotspur (@Pivotal_Hotspur) 6 December 2017
start Foyth at the weekend please!— nisa (@nisaiguana) 6 December 2017
I know he is only young but people saying Foyth was good tonight are way off the mark. He will get better but if he plays against City it will get embarrassing.— Yusuf (@Dembellly) 6 December 2017
Not sold on foyth, gave away many silly fouls and possession tonight. Still needs a lot of work, I'm still shocked KWP doesn't get more games he looks ready— Sluce (@Sluce23) 6 December 2017
Foyth looked just as much at ease as Sanchez did today. Kinda want to see him start vs Stoke/Brighton especially as I'm unconvinced by Dier as a CB in a back 4— SHARKY (@Belgian_Hotspur) 7 December 2017
Foyth was superb imo. Better than Sanchez today. He didn’t go into a challenge recklessly, he positioned himself smartly, good and calm with the ball. There was one instance where he intercepted the play and ran full speed with the ball in to the penalty area. Exciting talent https://t.co/FMqHHQ207n— OnomahIsABaller (@SpursD22) 7 December 2017
Foyth, who moved to Tottenham from Estudiantes in August, was making his debut in the competition, having only made two EFL Cup appearances to date for Pochettino's team.
Substitutes Kyle Walker-Peters and Kazaiah Sterling also made their respective Champions League and Spurs bows at Wembley.
Should Tottenham start with Foyth against Stoke?
