5. Moussa Sissoko

Often a laughing stock, the injury problems of Victor Wanyama have thrust Sissoko into playing major minutes. And to his credit, Sissoko has been much better than he was last year, finally looking the part of a Tottenham midfielder.

Against APOEL he was superb, completing 96% of his passes, creating 3 chances, winning 50% of his aerial duels and 100% of his tackles. A commanding display.

4. Juan Foyth

One of the few youngsters given a chance from the start, Juan Foyth was imperious for Tottenham on his Champions League debut. Alright it was only APOEL, but the Argentine teenager nevertheless strut his stuff. He made 2 blocks, 2 clearances and won an incredible 6/8 aerial duels.

With Foyth and Davinson Sanchez playing as well as they did tonight, the pressure to renew Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen won't be as great. These two have it covered!

3. Harry Winks

Tottenham's Champions League hero featured again. Winks has been great all season and this game was no exception. Winks completed 95% of his passes, running the show at the base of midfield where he also won 2/3 tackles. His pass out to Serge Aurier for Tottenham's first goal? Pure sorcery. Harry Winks is the truth.

2. Heung-Min Son

Bizarrely underused this season, Son took his chance in spectacular fashion. The South Korea international drifted into spaces between the lines and between defenders, APOEL simply couldn't get near him. Son rattled off five shots on goal, and scored his sides's second with a spectacular solo effort. The touch and turn to play it into Fernando Llorente and then the spectacular technique to carress the ball into the back of the net with his left foot was beyond compare.

1. Fernando Llorente

When Tottenham signed Fernando Llorente, it seemed to be a masterstroke, but the tall Spaniard has struggled to really impose himself on things. Mostly this is down to not actually scoring yet. It took just 20 minutes against APOEL to set that right, when Llorente controlled an Aurier cross, swivelled around the ball and slapped it into the net.

Llorente didn't stop there, leading Tottenham's line superbly. His assist for Son's goal was perfectly weight and was one of the 4 chances he created on the night (more than any other player on the park). Get him up-top and put runners around him, and he will shine. The Lion King roars again!
