Georges-Kevin N'Koudou scored his first goal for Tottenham Hotspur last night in a 3-0 Champions League win over APOEL Nicosia.

N'Koudou was making just his third start for Spurs since signing in 2016, and will be happy to have made a positive contribution.

The winger tried hard to provide an outlet and get past his opponents, although former Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle was not terribly impressed.

Speaking to BT Sport, Hoddle suggested N'Koudou's game was flawed, as he needs to start becoming more aware of what is going on around him to link up with his teammates and stop trying to do so much himself.

Hoddle said: "It's like he's playing with a neck brace on. Get your head up!"

N'Koudou has so far failed to convince head coach Mauricio Pochettino he is worthy of becoming a regular in the Spurs team, but this was a positive step in the right direction.

Hoddle's comments certainly offer a clear area in which the Frenchman can improve, but a small step forward from the winger must be appreciated.
