Marco Silva has insisted that he does not want any of his Watford squad to leave Vicarage Road in the January transfer window, including Troy Deeney who has been linked with Everton in recent times, the Daily Mail reports.

It has been a frustrating season for the Hornets skipper, with just four of his 10 Premier League appearances seeing him in the starting lineup with Andre Gray often leading the line for Watford.

The Mail reports that the Toffees have been linked with a move for Deeney in the January window, but Silva has insisted that despite his lack of action this term, he does not want to let Deeney leave for Goodison Park.

'I don't want to talk about Troy, Richarlison, Stefano Okaka, Isaac Success leaving in January. In each moment we will decide what is the best for Watford," he said, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Sam Allardyce, Manager of Everton during the Premier League match between Everton and Huddersfield Town at Goodison Park on December 2, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

'I don't know anything about any offers for Troy. I don't want anybody to leave in January. We only want to buy.'

Deeney has done fairly well when he has been given a chance this term, scoring twice - so it is not a surprise that Watford are keen to keep him, especially when you consider that only two of Silva's players have scored more than twice this season.

But for Deeney, 29, it would also be understandable if he was keen to consider a move to Everton if a bid came in in January, especially if he felt that Sam Allardyce was more likely to give him a greater number of chances.

And if Deeney does not feature more often in the six games ahead before the window opens, his desire to consider an Everton switch may perhaps increase and Silva may have a harder time trying to convince him to stay.
