Aston Villa fans do not appear best pleased with the suggestion that Oliver McBurnie is set to sign on loan from Swansea City in the January transfer window.
Villa are in dire need of a striker, with so many of their current options ruled out with injury.
Scott Hogan, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Jonathan Kodjia are all currently sidelined, leaving Keinan Davis as the only recognised senior striker available to Steve Bruce.
The Villa boss has already confirmed that he will be looking to sign a new number nine in January, and according to the Daily Record that man is McBurnie.
McBurnie has impressed for Swansea’s development side, scoring nine goals in six games.
The 21-year-old has also featured in seven of the Swans’ Premier League matches, but he has failed to score.
And Villa fans are concerned that Bruce is not going after a more recognised name, to help them secure promotion.
Not happy as we need proven striker— David o mahony (@Davidomahony18) December 7, 2017
I agree mate, totally unproven at senior level.— Villa Snaps (@VillaSnaps) December 7, 2017
This is a young academy player from Swansea. You have to ask why are our own youngsters not considered good eenougth?— Villa Mad (@VillaMad3) December 7, 2017
Christ if this is the standard we are looking at that aint good no disrespect to the lad ive seen him a few times recently but he wont do us any favours im afraid— Gareth Cooper (@ThatGarateyjc) December 7, 2017
hope not second spot is ours if we get a decent striker— Nick watts (@Wattsnick85) December 7, 2017
I'm a scout. I have seen him play before, he's not bad player at all but not right for us at this moment in his development. Think we need some experience on loan. Someone like Ulloa who is out of favour at Leicester.— Villan4Life (@AVFC1874Lions) December 3, 2017
He’s league 2 at best, watched him play when he was at Bradford City. No impact, no leadership capabilities and no direction. We’d be wasting our time with him #AVFC— George Bradley (@georgebradley96) December 3, 2017
