A report emanating from Turkey today claims that Baggies boss Alan Pardew has pulled the plug on a £10 million move for Fenerbahce ace Josef de Souza, according to Turkish media outlet Fanatik.

West Brom are currently sitting precariously in the Premier League table, just three points clear of the drop zone, and Pardew will surely be looking to bolster his ranks in January.

According to Fanatik though, the 28-year-old will not be arriving at the Hawthorns during the transfer window.

The Black Country outfit wanted to bring the Brazilian to the club in the summer, but had a £10.6 million bid rejected for him, according to the Daily Mail.

Negotiations between the Baggies and Fenerbahce were reportedly ongoing, but this was before Pardew was confirmed as the club's new manager, and the 56-year-old immediately scuppered the deal, according to Fanatik.

The former Crystal Palace manager's main priority will surely be to add an established goalscorer to his ranks in January, with West Brom's tally of just 12 Premier League goals scored being the fourth worst in the division.

And judging by Fanatik's report, he is more than happy with the midfield options that he currently has available to him.
