Spurs have been linked with Kondogbia since his Monaco days back in 2015.
Another transfer window, another month in which Geoffrey Kondogbia has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs’ scouts have been keeping a close eye on the powerful French midfielder since his days at Ligue 1 giants Monaco before he joined Inter Milan in a £30 million move in the summer of 2015.
Tottenham continued to be linked with Kondogbia during his underwhelming stay at the San Siro and, according to Sky Sports, are set to step up their interest now with the rangy enforcer on loan at La Liga giants Valencia.
But it appears that now is the perfect time for the North Londoners to make their move. Kondogbia looked a shadow of his former self at Inter but has been revitalised at La Liga high-flyers Valencia.
Combining exceptional ball winning abilities and a fearsome presence in the centre of the park, the 24-year-old also boasts the ability to drive forward with grace and speed from deep, allowing him to dominate midfields with his sheer physical gifts.
And with Moussa Dembele entering the final 18 months of his contract and Spurs looking for replacements, according to Sky Sports, who better than a young and hugely talented midfielder who is in the form of his life right now?
The report adds that Valencia believe they have an option to buy Kondogbia at the end of his loan spell, which is something they will surely attempt with the summer signing starring in Spain.
But this has not stopped Tottenham from attempting to gate-crash the deal. And anyone who was watched the reborn Kondogbia this season, especially in dominant performances against Real Madrid and Barcelona, will know exactly why Spurs are so keen.
