Tottenham have finished third and second in the Premier League table for the past two seasons.
The North London outfit were expected to challenge for the title this season as well, but it seems that they are out of the running for the championship.
Spurs are as low as sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 25 points from 15 matches, as many as 18 points behind runaway leaders Manchester City.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are also four points behind fourth-placed Liverpool, and there is a chance that they may not end up in the Champions League places.
Former Liverpool striker Collymore has suggested on Twitter that Tottenham’s aim should be to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
The former England international has also suggested that Spurs do not have the strength in squad that other clubs aiming for the Premier League title do.
Spurs are the real deal but it's unrealistic, with other clubs squads so packed with consistent, proven quality in 25, not 15-16 squad positions to expect them to kick on to a title. https://t.co/14PmEqfdaj— Stan Collymore (@StanCollymore) December 3, 2017
Everyone has a dip at some point. Just a few weeks ago all you pundits we're saying Spurs really are the real deal. So we're having our dip now. Form is temporary, class is permanent— Chris Gutowski (@chrisgutowski) December 3, 2017
