According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are interested in landing Dundee defender Jack Hendry – but so are Crystal Palace and Southampton.
Hendry, 22, broke through with Partick Thistle before earning a 2015 move to Wigan Athletic, where he made just three appearances having been farmed out on loan to Shrewsbury Town and MK Dons.
The centre back moved on to Dundee over the summer after being released by Wigan, and he has thrived with regular playing time under Neil McCann this season.

Hendry has impressed so much that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers singled him out for praise earlier this season, as quoted by The Scottish Sun, and it seems that interest in his signature is mounting.
All three clubs are eyeing up centre backs to target, and believe that Hendry can develop into a Premier League defender, even if he isn't there right now.
It's even claimed that Dundee – who are somewhat cash-strapped – are holding a board meeting this week to make a decision on whether to cash in on Hendry in January or keep one of their key players at Dens Park.
That may be music to the ears of Newcastle, Palace and Southampton, who will surely feel that they can offer a deal to tempt Dundee into selling Hendry in January, bringing some much-needed money into the club.
