The former Liverpool and Chelsea boss has also outlined what he is looking for in new signings.
When asked about the possibility of loan deals, Benitez told The Chronicle: “Yeah, we have to analyse every possibility because at the moment we don’t know what is going on. We have to consider every option and see it’s for us or not.”
“The priority is to stay in the Premier League - not find the next best player for the next 10 years,” added Benitez. “We must make sure we have what we need to compete. We need to have the experience, physicality and quality to improve the team.”
Benitez has also given an update on the injury situation at Newcastle, suggesting that Jamaal Lascelles, Christian Atsu and Paul Dummett could be back in action for the Magpies against Leicester City at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
When asked if they would be fit to face Leicester, Benitez told The Shields Gazette: “I don’t know – we’ll see this week.
"Atsu was very close, Dummett was very close and Jamaal was better, but we’ll see how he feels during the week.”
Newcastle’s recent performances and results have been disappointing, and the Magpies are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Benitez needs to sign players in the January transfer window if he is to keep Newcastle up, as the current squad is not great.
The Newcastle fans will hope that the Spaniard gets to sign the players that he wants, as it would be a massive blow to the club and to their future if they find themselves playing Championship football again next season.
