Southampton interested in re-signing Theo Walcott from Arsenal. If they do could Everton swoop for Nathan Redmond?

Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for Theo Walcott in the January transfer window and both Southampton and West Ham United are interested in the forward, according to the Sun.

Walcott is the Gunners' longest serving player having been at the club for almost 12 years after signing from the Saints back in January 2006.

However, despite arriving as a 16-year-old and being considered one of the brightest talents in English football, the attacker has failed to truly live up to expectations and has fallen down the pecking order in recent times.

A return to St Mary's is likely to be tempting for Walcott having come through the academy at the Hampshire outfit and if they do re-sign the 28-year-old, should Everton try and use that to their advantage?

The England international generally plays on the right wing, a position currently occupied in Mauricio Pellegrino's side by Nathan Redmond.

Redmond has impressed over the past couple of seasons and with the Toffees lacking options out wide currently, the 23-year-old could be exactly the sort of player they need to broaden their tactics.
