One of the biggest frustrations for Newcastle United fans in recent seasons has been that they have not had a proper cup run.
Often they have played weakened teams and been eliminated at the first opportunity in the FA Cup, often having a tough draw.
That is not the case this year, Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez could not have asked for a better opener.
Newcastle were drawn against League Two side Luton Town, and will be heavy favourites.
Former Newcastle striker Mick Quinn is already taking progression for granted, commenting on Twitter to say he is excited for the fourth round draw.
It's a tweet which is certain to go viral if Newcastle lose, and an upset can never be ruled out in the FA Cup, and cause Quinn huge embarrassment.
Former Luton striker John Hartson offered a reminder that Newcastle should not take anything as done, by recalling Luton's cup run two decades ago, where they managed to return from St James' Park having avoided defeat.
Great draw for Luton against Premier League side Newcastle.. 23 years ago we went up there and got a 1-1.. what a cup run, Semis !! COYH— John Hartson (@JohnHartson10) December 4, 2017
Luton went on to win the replay that year, and Newcastle fans should not get carried away by dreaming of Wembley just yet.
