Jimmy Walker delivers his verdict on who should be West Ham's first choice goalkeeper

Adrian vs Hart

Former West Ham United favourite Jimmy Walker has been discussing the situation surrounding Joe Hart and Adrian at his old club.

Joe Hart of West Ham United look dejected after the Premier League match between Everton and West Ham United at Goodison Park on November 29, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

West Ham signed Joe Hart on an expensive loan from Manchester City in the summer and he was instantly installed as the club's first choice goalkeeper.

The England stopper has failed to shine for the Hammers, though, and has come in for criticism as part of a side which as won just two games from 15 in the Premier League so far this season.

Things came to a head when Hart produced a woeful display in the 4-0 drubbing at Everton last week.

He was ineligible to play against his parent side Manchester City in the next game and former Hammers number one Adrian produced a man of the match display on his return to the side as David Moyes' side almost pulled off a shock result in an encouraging 2-1 defeat.

Adrian played in West Ham's last victory, against bitter rivals Tottenham in the Carabao Cup back in October and Hammers fans have been calling for him to be reinstated as number one ever since.

Moyes has remained coy over who will start between the sticks against Chelsea on Saturday.

But Walker, who was a hugely popular figure during his time in East London, has delivered his verdict on Twitter and believes Adrian should keep his place.

"Great effort from the Hammers (against Man City)," Walker said on Twitter.

"Those levels shud be reached as a prerequisite every game though! Adrian was outstanding.

"Can't disagree with that (Adrian needs to keep his place)... deserves a run after that! Joes (Hart) not been great either."
