New West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew could face a battle in the January transfer window to keep hold of defensive duo Jonny Evans and Ahmed Hegazi.

Pardew is getting ready to have talks with Evans with the Express reporting Arsenal and Manchester City are getting ready to renew their interest in the Baggies captain.

Meanwhile, according to ESPN Liverpool have contacted Hegazi's parent club Al Ahly - with the centre-back on a season long loan at the Hawthorns currently - about signing him in the New Year.

There is a clause written into the loan deal that states West Brom can sign the Egypt international permanently for £4.4m but they could well face competition from the Reds.

It means that Pardew could lose two of the club's most influential players this season and with the West Midlands outfit only three points outside the relegation zone currently, would they be able to cope with the double loss?

It already seems that it could be a tough season ahead for the new boss and even if they receive £30m for Evans as reported, who could be signed to replace him?
