Rodney Marsh has taken to social networking site Twitter to praise West Ham United for their performance against Manchester City.

West Ham suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Although the Hammers failed to pick up any point from the encounter, the London club actually took the lead.

Pep Guardiola’s side’s class and quality eventually proved to be the difference between the two teams, and former Queens Park Rangers and City forward Marsh was impressed with the performance of West Ham.

Former West Ham striker John Hartson has also praised David Moyes’s side for their display against the Citizens.

West Ham’s performance against City was quite encouraging, and so was the fact that they matched the Citizens for a large part of the match.

However, the fact of the matter is that David Moyes’s side lost all three points and remain in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
