Vincent Janssen did not have to wait long to score for loan club Fenerbahce, unlike his long wait for a goal at Tottenham.

The problem was that after netting two in his opening month, he went several weeks without netting, before scoring his third of the season this week.

Janssen was pleased to score again, and sent a message on Instagram showing off his goal and thanking supporters for sticking by him.

Spurs had not felt so strongly about him, ditching him in September after just one season at the club.

Thanks fans for all the support! See you soon ⚽️ #Fenerbahçe

Tottenham fans were quite impressed to see him on target again, and sent messages showing their support.

Several even pleaded the case for him to return to Tottenham.

  • j.small11_ Do that for totty mate
  • reece_parsons Y can’t u score like that for Tottenham
  • luke_jay16 We need you back at spurs, Llorente is absolute trash, I've always believed in you Jansen and I hope when you return from loan you can prove yourself.
  • pisces15374 Come back soon COYS
  • gilmore_spurs_Always had faith in Jansen now he's scoring we didn't give him a good break he's just had to get up to scratch with the prem league and he always worked hard
  • gabestewart_Miss you at spurs man

A lot of this stems from Fernando Llorente's terrible performances so far, since he signed for Spurs in August.

His arrival forced Janssen out, but the Spaniard is yet to score and has looked unimpressive in his appearances, and Spurs would be no worse off if they simply stuck with the Dutchman instead.
