Ekuban started the match at Oakwell and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Whites won 2-0.
The 22-year-old Ghanian striker, who joined Leeds from Chievo in the summer transfer window, played well, and his performance impressed his teammate Jansson.
Jansson told LUTV: “Caleb also in the last game, he was really important for us, ran a lot, made a lot of space for the other players. We need a striker like him to run a lot and create space for the others.”
Ekuban may not have scored against Barnsley last weekend, but his performance against them was very encouraging.
The youngster is hungry for games and is very enthusiastic, and head coach Thomas Christiansen should include him in his starting lineup against Aston Villa at Elland Road in the Championship this weekend.
Villa have problems at the back, and deploying Ekuban in attack will enable Leeds to exploit them.
The win against Barnsley will have given Leeds confidence, and the Whites should feel good about this evening’s match even though Steve Bruce’s Villa are in great form at the moment.
